Nothing has announced the Nothing Phone 2 launch on July 11 at 8:30 PM (IST). This will be coming with Nothing OS 2.0. Meanwhile, the company CEO, Carl Pei tweeted that Nothing Phone 1 will also get this new software update before long. So, that would be one less reason to upgrade to the Phone 2. Here’s what we know so far about this phone.
Nothing Phone 1 Nothing OS 2.0 update situation?
Carl Pei says, “Nothing OS 2.0 will be coming to Phone (1) users by the end of August”. So these users have to wait about a month or a few weeks after the Phone 2 launch.
At present, the Nothing Phone 1 is running on Nothing OS 1.5.3. This is based on Android 13 and brings features like about 35% faster app loading times, improved power efficiency, better memory optimization, enhanced system stability, support for the Nothing Ear 2 earphones, and bug fixes.

Well, Phone 1 users can also try Android 14 beta 1, but be cautious of the bugs though.
All that said, a new phone is not just about software. Besides Nothing OS 2.0, Nothing Phone (2) will be bringing a lot of other changes and improvements. Here’s what we know so far.
Nothing Phone 2: What’s new (Expected)
As per the design hints dropped by the company so far, Nothing Phone 2’s Glyph interface will have better customization and functionality choices. As per the brand, the Phone 2 will sport an aluminium frame.
On the front, there could be a 6.7-inch panel. Inside, the phone is rumoured to bring Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and a 4,700mAh battery.
Since we are not even a month away from the scheduled launch event, we expect new details to surface in the days leading to it.
